Areej Alsayed

Areej Alsayed is a Syrian youth advocate and GPE Youth Leader based in Germany, with lived experience as a refugee. She is passionate about inclusive education, climate justice, and amplifying the voices of displaced youth and girls.

Areej serves as a Youth Advisor to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and is a member of the Education for Sustainable Development youth forum (youpaN). She also contributes to the Working Group on Youth and Climate Foreign Policy of the German Federal Foreign Office.

Through her roles, Areej continues to champion inclusive systems that leave no one behind and ensure that education remains a tool for empowerment, dignity, and justice.
