Over the past two decades, structural changes in Bolivia's education system have led to significant progress, but challenges remain related to access, retention and the quality of learning.
With support from GPE and partners, Bolivia is developing its next multi-year strategic plan for 2026–2030.
The Ministry of Education aims to strengthen medium-term strategic planning for the education sector, consolidate education information systems, promote gender equity, strengthen sector management, and build institutional capacity at central and subnational levels.
To enhance sector planning, the Ministry of Education convened the Plurinational Education Congress in 2024, involving members of teachers' and other trade unions, civil society organizations, and student and parent groups to formulate and outline educational policies that respond to the needs of Bolivian society.
